The place

A 1950s suburb that became a village

Maryvale started as one builder's idea. In the 1950s John F. Long planned a complete community of affordable homes on the farmland at the west edge of Phoenix, and named it after his wife, Mary. The architect Victor Gruen drew the first master plan. Long's crews worked like an assembly line: in 1954 he had sold 350 houses before they were built and could finish about eight a day, and by 1956 he was selling 125 a week.

Phoenix grew around it, and Maryvale is now one of the city's 15 urban villages, and the biggest by population: 208,189 people at the 2010 census. It sits on the west side of the city, southwest of Grand Avenue and north of McDowell Road and I-10, out to the city limit.

Those fast-built streets still set the scene. Much of Maryvale is streets of houses with driveways, mixed with apartment and condo complexes. Both work for a windshield replacement; they just ask for different things from you, which the section on parking below covers.

Landmarks and busy days

Use these to tell us where you are. A few of them also fill the roads on certain days, which is worth knowing when you pick a time.

None of these is a partner of ours. If your car is parked at one of them, the venue's own rules decide whether a vendor can work in its lot.

Freeways

The I-10 and Loop 101 interchange

Maryvale's southern edge is I-10, and its western neighbour is the interchange where Loop 101 begins, a three-level stack with I-10 at Tolleson. From spring 2026 that interchange is a construction zone for about three years: ADOT is adding direct carpool connections between the two freeways and widening both, including Loop 101 from I-10 north to Indian School Road.

Long projects like this mean lane shifts, temporary barriers and dirt shoulders for a long stretch of a commute many Maryvale drivers make every day. Leave room behind trucks through the work zone, and if a stone hits, note the freeway, the direction and the nearest exit. A little further south, the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway runs down the 59th Avenue line to meet I-10, which is the quick way from Maryvale to Laveen and around the mountain to Ahwatukee.

Where we work

Driveways, carports and apartment lots

Most Maryvale installs happen at home. A few details help the technician find you and get the job done.

  • In a driveway or carport, pull the car in nose first with room to open both front doors.
  • In an apartment or condo complex, send the building and space number and the gate code or call-box name. If the office has vendor rules, tell us when you book.
  • Street parking works on a quiet residential block with room beside the car. On a busy arterial like Indian School, Thomas or 75th Avenue, a lot is safer for everyone.
  • Afternoons from May to September are hard on hot glass. A carport, a garage or a morning slot helps.
  • We do not install in rain or blowing dust. If monsoon weather is coming across the west Valley, we call to move the time.

An adult with the keys needs to be at the car to approve the work.

ZIP codes

Maryvale's four ZIP codes

Four Phoenix ZIP codes cover most of Maryvale. Mapped from the 2020 Census, 85031 centres on the eastern part of the village near Indian School Road, 85035 lies to its south toward McDowell Road, 85033 covers the middle west, and 85037 reaches the far west side toward 107th Avenue.

Edges near Glendale to the north and Tolleson to the southwest do not always follow the city line, so send the full street address when you book. We serve Glendale and Tolleson as well, so either way the job gets done.

Maryvale questions

Ask us on our Phoenix line, (602) 782-5144, or by text at (877) 350-5962.

Is Maryvale its own city?

No. Maryvale is one of Phoenix's 15 urban villages, on the west side of the city. It began as a planned community in the 1950s and grew into the most populous village in Phoenix.

Can you replace a windshield in my apartment parking lot?

Usually, yes. Send the building, the space number and the gate code with your booking, and check whether the property office wants vendors to sign in.

Is it a problem if there is a game or a concert nearby?

Not for the install itself. Tell us if you are near 51st Avenue on a spring training game day or near 83rd Avenue on a concert evening, so the technician can plan the drive.

A stone from the I-10 and Loop 101 work zone cracked my windshield. Where do I book the visit?

At home, at work or at your apartment lot, not by the freeway. Same-day appointments are available in most areas when the glass for your car is in stock. Keep the freeway, the direction and the nearest exit in your own notes. Installs happen Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm.
